Tension set rings can be made of any material that is used for traditional wedding rings. You can have it in yellow gold, white gold, titanium or platinum. Since tension set style gives your ring a very modernistic look, platinum and titanium are most popular materials for this style of ring. If you are worried about losing your beautiful diamond, don’t be. Manufacturers of tension set rings claim that the stone is hold very securely and will not get lost. You actually have more chances of losing your diamond from a traditional channel set ring. If you handle your ring with care, your gem will stay there.
Metal Choice. The three most widely used precious metals are yellow gold, platinum and white gold. Gold has always been the traditional choice, but its yellow undertone makes it a little tricky when it comes to coordinating it with clothing. White gold and platinum, with their silvery-white look are a better option in this regard. White gold is a cheaper alternative to the pricey platinum. When you buy metal bands, make sure you check the jewelry marking.
Colour: the ideal diamond is perfectly transparent. As a natural stone, virtually every diamond has minor structural or chemical imperfections which in turn alter its value. This is almost impossible to see by the naked eye but the colour clarity will be graded and allows for a range of affordability. Clarity: an inclusion is identified as a structural imperfection such as clouding, minuscule cracks or foreign material within the diamond. The variance in number, size, visibility and colour of these will impact the stones’ clarity.
