Wedding ceremony is celebrated differently in different countries and like that ring ceremony is also not similar. There are some customs where wedding ring is worn on their right ring finger and there are some countries where wedding ring is worn on their left ring finger. Another option is to have the main bridesmaid keep the ring during the ceremony – there are a variety of ways to keep it: in a pouch, on a plate, etc. After the ceremony, the ring can be placed back on either the left or the right hand.
The Egyptians wore the wedding ring on the left hand because it was believed that a vein in the left hand went straight to the heart. This tradition is still commonly practiced today in most parts of the world largely for practical purposes (most people are right handed.) It is worn on the fourth finger of the left hand. But there are some countries and groups which do not follow this tradition. In the Jewish faith, the wedding ring is put on the index finger. Roman Catholics traditionally wore their wedding band on the right hand, and in many countries and regions in Europe some people still follow this tradition.
You must identify the correct setting for your stone including traditional classic solitaire, three stone setting, side stones, tension setting and pave setting. Your individual taste and imagination will guide you through this choice and should you wish to have a truly bespoke design, an expert jeweller will offer an individually designed jewellery setting. This will allow any setting choice to be fully customised.
Style. The style also adds to the beauty of the ring. There is a range of styles to choose from. You can choose a vintage style ring that expresses your cultural heritage or chunky, modern ring with intricate designs. If you’ve always loved to stand out in the crowd, opt for an unusual style wedding band. It could be a Goth band, horseshoe styled bands, dolphin rings and dragon bands.
This style of wedding rings is not as widely spread as tradition channel set rings. But they are becoming more popular in recent years because of their elegant beauty. The reason they are called tension set is because the stone is hold in place by tension. In tension set engagement rings and wedding rings a stone is set in an opening in the ring itself and held by tension of the open ends of the ring. This style gives your stone a better exposure.
