Now a day a trend is that wedding ring can not be made with out platinum or titanium. These are more durable and fashionable too. Platinum with white alloys of gold are demanding by the wedding couples. Slightly yellow ’white’ gold alloys which was used with gold is now replaced with cheaper nickel-gold alloy with a plating of rhodium. Lifestyle and Work. This is a very important consideration for most men. Do you have a job that involves using your hands in manual labor? Do you come into contact with corrosive chemicals? Do you play contact sports? Many men would just remove their ring for vigorous activities, but if this is a daily issue for you, then you may prefer to select a ring that is up to the challenge. Another important point to note is if you are in risk of catching your ring on anything and having to have it cut off? One drawback to a totally indestructible ring is that they can’t be cut off quickly in the case of an accident. This can be an issue with both aircraft grade titanium and tungsten wedding rings.
The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton is a name almost all of us are familiar with. Credited as the Fashionista, she flaunts one of the most iconic rings of the world, but have you ever paid attention to her dear hubby, Duke of Cambridge, Prince William’s ring? Well, the prince doesn’t wear a wedding ring. Yes! That’s right, if you go through the prince’s many thousands of pictures online, you will notice that there isn’t a single picture where he is wearing a ring on his hand. Neither is he a fan of any kind of jewellery.
Popular selections for men’s ring metals include gold, both yellow and white, platinum, titanium, tungsten, and palladium. From a hard wearing point of view, palladium, platinum, tungsten, ceramic, and titanium rings are all very strong. These metals are also great for anyone with skin issues as they are all hypo-allergenic. From a budget point of view, platinum will cost you the most, followed by the golds, and then palladium.
Colored stones aren’t new to these rings however they have become more preferred in the recent times. Other designs include three stoned ring which have not one but three diamonds set together. Wedding bands are the ones which are exchanged by the couple during their wedding ceremony. In the past they were just meant for the girl, but these days an exchange is preferred. It’s generally a single gold or platinum band without any seam to mark the sanctity of marriage and the bond that will bring two people together sealed by love. These days bands encrusted with diamonds or some intricate carvings are also used.
